Adventures in Olvera Street - Los Angeles

So I went to Olvera Street and had a nice afternoon stroll. So cute. The history, the culture, the people, the merchandise and the food!

I love Mexican candy so much! Went crazy with it!

El Paseo restaurant is just one of the cute spots to enjoy authentic Mexican food.

I had Huevos Rancheros and my husband had Enchiladas! Mmmmm, trust me it was very tasty.

These matches are soo cute. They are covered with fabric and detailed with glitter! Cute idea. I am for sure stealing it and making it my own.

So many to choose from...

Olvera Street, I will see you soon! :)

Lido Goes Pop - Stonemill Design Suite

The Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach has been transformed as the Riviera magazine sets up shops, dining areas and social life. The Stonemill Design suite was just one of the very exciting pop up shops. Designed exclusively by Rick Campos of Christopher Tracy Interiors and Sarah Strader of Sarah Strader Design, they both did a fabulous job!

The four panels on the wall are covered in BAROQUE by Clarke and Clarke compliments of Kenneth MacDonald. Great color and pattern choice for a great visual impact!

These gorgeous black armchairs in croc with nailhead trim were compliments of Designers Resource Collection, I so wish I could take these home with me!

Pillows on the sofa and throughout the space are a combination of "PICTURE SHOW" by Lee Jofa compliments of Kenneth McDonald and Sarah Strader Textiles compliments of Estate of Design

These beautiful  furniture pieces are designs from Sarah Strader's Collection. The picture does not do its justice! The Marquez occasional chair is of solid wood construction with Italian top stitched leather and a corresponding Marquez sitting bench! Absolutely gorgeous.

I am in love with this corner of the room!!! The brick wall accent and the window letting in the beautiful sunshine. Wish this was a corner in my place.

This artwork is so cool. It's black and white oil on canvas and the artist is Susan Nelson.

The outdoor furniture is from the Zephyr Collection by Brown Jordan compliments of Designers Resource Collection and the pillows are covered in outdoor fabric by Trina Turk for Schumacher. The beautiful hand woven light fixtures are from Lighting Innovation

Such a cute space! Thank you for sharing your talent and all this beautiful merchandise!

Celebrate - Cinco De Mayo

I love throwing parties! Inspiring your next shing dig is what I hope to do! There are 4 main areas to a party. Now I am no expert, but this is my personal opinion. You need decorations, invitations, some great recipes, and entertainment! These are my faves for Cinco De Mayo!

1. Papel Picado   2. Chayo’s Flowers  3. Multicolor Serape  4.  Pinata’s  5. Bolso – Traditional Mexican Shopping Bag

Use these items as your basis. These items already have more enough color so for your placemats and flatware, choose one solid color like white or orange. This way the color palette is not overwhelming. It makes for a sophisticated look!
Shop these cute decorations @ http://www.amols.com/

Spicy Papel Picado invitations for your soiree is sure to get a lot of attention! These invitations are graphically pleasing using a traditional Mexican folk art craft.

Now, I am not saying to leave behind the tequila, but these yummy cup cakes are sure crowd pleasers! Perfect for the designated driver of the night, or for those under 21 folk.

For some fun, purchase this super fun Mexican game of chance! It is very similar to Bingo but this helps you spruce up your Spanish!

While the party is going, make sure to play some great music! Mariachi is always a favorite. Some great artist to check out are: Ana Garbriel (Mi Mexico), & Joan Sebastian (Joan Sebastian con Mariachi). For some other latin choices: Shakira, Mana, Los Enanitos Verdes, and Gloria Estefan.
Have fun!
