Admiring Ylva Skarp

Ylva Skarp is a Swedish artist whom I am admiring. I love the calligraphy art she does. The white lettering on a solid black or white background. She has artwork you can hang or different home accessories like pillows, candles, vases, etc. I totally love!

Starbucks in Japan

Hello Japan! Starbucks has an updated look in Dazaifu, Japan. The interiors are spectacular. The architect Kengo Kuma and Associates built this interior with 2,000 stick like parts to create this shrine to the shrine.

Now what do you think about the architect using all that wood? Is it a waste or not? Would you come to this Starbucks?

Busy Bee

Wow is this week flying by.  Work is picking up by the masses (which is a great thing) and with school, married life, and a somewhat personal life, my schedule has filled up quickly. I have been lacking in my blog creativeness and am sad about it. Wish there were more hours in the day to be able to Photoshop the crap out of my blog! Til' now its off to Revit.

Diane Von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg's New York penthouse has been featured in Architectural Digest and it is beautiful, of course. The penthouse resides atop the meatpacking district corporate headquarters. Diane is so fabulous in all she does. No wonder her home is the same.

How amazing is this rooftop garden and deck? Sipping coffee in the morning or eating dinner while enjoying the views.

Designed by the architecture firm, WORKac, DVF's true style has been captured with a glamorous world traveler style and her signature prints. How amazing are the Franz West chairs and the Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann with that leopard rug?

If Andy Warhol used me for one of his art pieces, I would display it in my home as well. Beautiful pop of color to this natural setting.

Water Monopoly has some great pieces and these are just some of them. Such a different way of setting up a bathroom. Love it.

Things...

Snakeskin is in! This detailed pattern adds definite glamor to any space. It can be in the form of back splash, a top, or a pillow! I am totally loving snakeskin. I have decided that for my b-day I want, no I need a camera. I haven't had one for years as my phone camera had been ok, but now, I am over it. I think I should as for the Pentax in snakeskin!

Danish Living

I am totally loving this home of Danish jewelry designer Stine A. Johansen.
The space feels so warm and cozy with its clean neutral palette with a splash of personal color. The paintings are mainly done by Stine. Sometimes it's nice to be in a minimalist space with punches of interest. The home is mixed with eclectic pieces of classic design and treasures found in flea markets.
